Expunctions / Record Sealing
Arrest records for an alleged crime can be accessed in a routine background check by the public, including future employers, educational institutions, and licensing agencies. The access of these records can thus limit or hamper future employment or career opportunities as well as obtaining professional licenses. An expungement of your records can remedy this problem. Not everyone will be eligible for an expunction. To find out if you are eligible under Texas law, discuss your case with our experienced Texas record expungement lawyer.
Orders of Non-Disclosure
A non-disclosure order of your criminal records may be petitioned through the courts, which will make your records inaccessible to others as public record. Only government agencies will be able to access these records. Once your order of non-disclosure is obtained, you will be able to state that you have not been arrested, placed on deferred adjudication, or convicted of the offense.
Pardons
A pardon is attained through an application to the Governor of the state. When attained, it is forgiveness of the crime and restores many or all of the citizenship rights you may have lost through a criminal conviction as well as restoring your good name. A full pardon will not erase your criminal record but will become part of the record, showing that it has been granted. You can then disclose the pardon in any future inquiry about the conviction.
To learn more about how these legal remedies may apply to your case, it is recommended that you consult with an attorney at the firm about the specifics of your situation.
